Easter in Canberra

Our planned road trip has been postponed, due to mechanical problems with the Dusty camper van. All work being done under warranty thankfully. It’s a long story for another day, but we are looking forward to getting on the road by the weekend. Our first stop will be for some birding and lounging in the artesian pools in the Pillaga scrub.

Easter in Canberra meant that I was able  to take part in the Canberra Ornithologists Saturday to Narrabundah Hill, a great morning birding with a really knowlegable group. A good tally of 34 birds were ticked during the 3.5 hours.

On Sunday afternoon I drove out to London Brige on the southern shore of Googong Dam. The birding wasn’t spectacular, but the scenery was.

After so much outdoor activity it was time for some more sedentary passtimes, I managed to just about finishing my Christmas jugsaw puzzle and has a lazy time sitting in the garden reading Susan Duncan’s the Briney Cafe.

Great holiday read.
